This month our theme is COMMUNITY! Thank you to everyone who helped participate in Homecoming Sunday and make it a great return to the church community for the Fall season.
This week, we're looking at Jeremiah 32 and how the Israelites were taken captive to Babylon. It was a super tough time for the Israelites! We're reading "The Day War Came" by Nicola Davies. This book, published in association with Help Refugees, tells the story of a young girl who must leave her home because of war. This book may be especially useful at this time, when wars, refugees, and immigration are constant refrains in the news.
These stories help remind us that God is with us wherever we are and however difficult things get. We can also remember that God wants us to welcome folks into the community, like the little girl in the story. There is always enough room at God's table!
This is a story for Children and Families at Peace UCC.
This lesson is for the Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost (Proper 20). We are talking about Jeremiah 32.
This week we're reading "The Day War Came" by Nicola Davies.
This book will be available during worship on Family Worship Sunday and at Kids' Night Out!
