This week, as people around the country celebrate the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, our online story is called "The Declaration of the Rights of Boys and Girls," by Elisabeth Brami.
Sometimes people will tell us that girls or boys should only do or enjoy certain activities, but we know the truth is that we're all created in the image of God to be our authentic selves, whether or not we adhere to cultural stereotypes about our gender. We all get to be who we are, whether or not the things we do are considered masculine or feminine by others. This book, endorsed by Amnesty International, shows kids that boys and girls are allowed to be who they are and do, dress, play, study, and act, and love who they desire, no matter what other people think!
